It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of RCSC Zumba instructor Ibis’ son the week of August 22, 2011.  Tragically and ironically, he was found after lifting heavy weights alone in a hotel gym.  If you would like to send a note or card of sympathy to Ibis, we are collecting them at the front desk and will forward them to her in a package in the next few weeks.  Please keep Ibis and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Congratulations to Hector Montesinos on a great run in the 2011 Rockville Twilight 8k July 16.  With a time of 35:11 he was 246th out of over 2300 runners.

RCSC trainer Jean Simons teaches a weekly class called “Strong & Fit” to homeless women at N Street Village in DC. N Street Village is a DC nonprofit that provides comprehensive services to homeless women, including housing, case management, mental health therapy, wellness programs, job training and support for basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter.  Jean is thrilled to volunteer to help the women at N Street gain more energy, strength, balance and flexibility in a supportive and fun workout.  Check out N Street Village here:  http://www.nstreetvillage.org/index.cfm
