Transformations will chronicle a member of the club for 6 months as they strive to improve their lives by tranforming their bodies. The member chosen for this program has struggled with maintaining a healthly lifestyle in the past and has agreed to follow the guidance of a selected RCSC trainer in order to achieve carefully selected and realistic goals. This 6-month journey will be followed on the RCSC website and throughout the gym.
The first Transformation program officially begun October 25 with weigh-ins and before pictures. Please meet the first participants of RCSC’s Transformation program, Jason Strunk and Heather Hanson. Jason and Heather are roommates and are determined to support each other in this process of transformation. They joined Weight Watchers in July and Rock Creek Sports Club in September. Jason will be training with Zach and Heather with Jean. Here is what each says about this opportunity RCSC has offered.
Jason – “Success. How is it such a simple word can have a myriad of definitions? How is it that each definition can have countless levels of nuance?
Sure, I’ve dreamed of being successful (whatever that means) in some traditional ways. I’ve always wanted to be wealthy or well respected in my field. I’ve wanted to be the one with a sea of friends and the one people envy and try to be. However, no matter how hard I’ve worked to do all of that, it’s been a wash because of the physical baggage I carry.
Stop! Recalculating route! Success for Jason Strunk has to be found in a journey toward balance. This broad idea of success has to be brought down to finding peace within me, and allowing my body, mind and soul to come into alignment; to be real with myself and to fulfill my needs.
I guess Emerson was right when he said, “…to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!” This life is mine…I choose to breathe!”
Heather – Success in this journey means that I will not only lose numbers on the scale, but I will lose my outer shell. I will become the person inside that I’ve always known was in there. I want to be able to go through my day without being tired, getting throught work without every part of my body hurting. I want to be balanced and have increased flexibility. Also, I would like to increase my strength. Even more than the numbers on the scale, fitting into smaller clothes, feeling better, and having more energy will be how I’ve deemed myself and all that have assisted in my journey, successful.”
